Selective resume of
Alyona Nickelsen
Alyona Nickelsen was born in Ukraine and currently lives in Southern California. Her artistic career began early in her A+ school life where she was called upon to create most of the artistic projects that are a normal part of school life. She received her formal schooling in accounting and is fluent in three languages.
When she moved to the United States in 1999 she found that there were vast opportunities for artists here and immediately decided to reenter the art world. Alyona soon discovered the flexibility and creativity now possible with colored pencils. She developed her own colored pencil process that she could use to create super-realistic art that met her own exacting standards.
Alyona has exhibited and won awards in numerous prestigious national and international juried shows such as The Salmagundi Club, American Artists Professional League, Allied Artists of America, Audubon Artists, Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club, Colored Pencil Society of America and many others.
